Newstead is one of Launceston's original suburbs and it shows in the housing, grand old places, a lot of 1980s infill, and newer builds from the 2000s on. Three eras on one street means three different concreting problems on one street.

A period home on an original block usually has a narrow side passage and a garden nobody wants damaged. That is a line-pump job rather than a truck-in-the-driveway job, and it is worth knowing before you get quotes.
Slabs poured forty years ago were often thinner and less reinforced than they would be today. Much of what we are asked to repair or replace in Newstead is from that period, and some of it is genuinely worth repairing.
On an established street the new concrete has to sit next to the old. We will tell you honestly how close a match is achievable, because new concrete never matches weathered concrete exactly.
Established plantings, mature trees and stone edging all have to be worked around rather than through. Tree roots near a slab are a real consideration here and we look for them before we quote.

Sometimes, and often not. A lot of the original blocks have a side passage around 900mm wide, which suits a line pump and rules out a truck. We check the access at the measure so the right plant is booked rather than discovered on the day.
It depends on whether the slab is sound underneath. If it is stable and just tired, resurfacing or repair is very good value. If it moves underfoot or cracks in a network across the whole area, it has run out and we will say so.
Close, not exactly. Old concrete has weathered and new concrete has not, and colour keeps changing for weeks after a pour. We match texture and finish and place joints on the line between old and new so the seam is deliberate.
